North River Wildlife Sanctuary — 2000 Main St., Marshfield, MA
Celebrate the magic of winter during this family-friendly, open-house style event, where you can explore at your own pace and enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities throughout the afternoon. Meet live raptors from the Blue Hills Trailside Museum during special animal presentations, create seasonal crafts, and join guided walks to search for animal tracks in the mud or snow. Warm up by the fire pit with hot cocoa and s'mores, get hands-on with nature through interactive touch tables, and discover how local wildlife survives and thrives during the coldest months of the year. From the wonder of a winter night reimagined in daylight to opportunities for exploration, creativity, and wildlife encounters, there's something for every age to enjoy. Explore the festival at your own pace with indoor and outdoor activities, hands-on experiences, and open trails that invite you to discover the beauty of the sanctuary. If the weather forces a postponement, the event will move to the following day, Sunday, February 7. More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
