Parent & Child Aquatics (Ages 6 months – 3 years) This fun, interactive class introduces children ages 6 months to 3 years to the water with the support of a parent or guardian. Through songs, games, and guided activities, children will: Build comfort and confidence in the water. Establish an expectation for adult supervision in and around water. Practice safe ways to enter and exit the pool. Explore submerging through rhythmic bobbing and blowing bubbles. Learn to glide on their front and back with assistance. All instructors are certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors
All children under 3.5 years old, and any child over 3.5 who is not toilet trained, must wear a disposable swim diaper. Swim diapers are available for purchase at the pool for $2.00.
The pool is maintained at a recreational temperature of 80–82 degrees. Because infants and toddlers cannot regulate body temperature as well as adults, their temperature can change quickly in water.
