Students work in teams to design and build a simple model hand using cardboard, straws, string, and tape. They’ll explore how joints, tendons, and muscles work together to create movement, then test their prototypes by picking up small objects like cotton balls or pencils. The session wraps with a discussion on how engineers use creativity and problem-solving to design assistive technologies that improve people’s lives. No experience needed. All materials will be provided.
