Join us in person or over Zoom Webinar as the Shaw Roxbury Branch Library welcomes Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett , Professor at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, TIME Hero of the Year, Renowned Virologist & Science Communicator. A leading vaccine expert and viral immunologist, Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett is renowned for leading a team that developed a COVID-19 vaccine in record-breaking speed. Dr. Corbett’s patented technology is used in many vaccines around the world, including Moderna, Pfizer, and Novavax. She is currently a professor of immunology and infections diseases at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator. Her lab focuses on using virology and immunology to inform vaccine and therapeutics development for viruses that have pandemic potential. Outside of the lab, Dr. Corbett engages with the community towards the goal of health equity and vaccine education. Passionate about igniting an interest in science amongst young people, Dr. Corbett invests much of her time mentoring and advocating for STEM education.
