In honor of Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for special family activities featuring live music, art making, and storytelling that celebrate Latinx and Hispanic heritage and culture. Thanks to a partnership between the MFA and the City of Boston, Boston Family Days provide students who live in Boston and their families free access to the Museum on the first and second Sundays of each month. Events and Activities Drop-In Art Making: Ex-Votos, Paintings that Tell a Story 10 am–4 pm (last entry 3:45 pm) Shapiro Family Courtyard Ex-voto paintings, often created on tin or found materials, express thanks for answered prayers or show, using words as well as images, something amazing or unexplainable that happened to someone. Taking inspiration from ex-voto paintings on view in gallery 336 of the Art of the Americas Wing, use paint, markers, and mixed media to create your own work of art that shares a story!
