Artillery during the American Civil War was a deadly and devastating occupation as both armies heavily employed their destructive uses to great effect. To gain a better understanding about cannoneer culture visitors will be able to handle and see up close the equipment used by both Union and Confederate armies with tangible items on display including reproduction artillery shells, tools, artifacts and implements as well as descriptions for each provided by a Battlefield Park Ranger.
