Douthat State Park — 14239 Douthat State Park Rd., Millboro, VA
Join a ranger around the fire at Douthat State Park, gathering inside a historic CCC-built shelter for an evening of reflection, storytelling, and warm apple crisp. As the cast-iron Dutch oven apple crisp cooks over the flames, we’ll explore the history of Douthat State Park and the lasting legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps, whose members played an important role in developing the park during the 1930s. From trails and roads to cabins and recreational facilities, the work of the CCC helped shape Douthat into the park visitors enjoy today. Cost is $5 per person. Space is limited, so please sign up and pay by calling 540-862-8100. Parks are for everyone. If you have accessibility questions or concerns, please call 540-862-8144 or email Hannah.
