Join us for a hands-on volunteer workday as we take the next exciting step in establishing the new Pollinator Garden at Douthat State Park! This time, volunteers will help dig planting holes, transplant native plants into their new habitat, and spread topsoil and mulch as needed. Together, we’ll bring the garden to life and create a thriving space for pollinators. It’s a great opportunity to support native species, learn about habitat restoration, and enjoy a rewarding day outdoors in one of Virginia’s most scenic state parks. What to Bring: Gloves, eye protection, closed-toe shoes, water, and your enthusiasm for blooms and pollinators. Who Can Join: Volunteers of all ages and skill levels—no experience needed. Why It Matters: Pollinators play a vital role in healthy ecosystems. By helping build this garden, you’re creating a welcoming space for butterflies, bees, and other beneficial species who call Douthat home. Parks are for everyone.
