Hayfields State Park — 524 Hayfields Ln., Mcdowell, VA
On October 23rd, join us for a hike through the forest in the light of the moon as we search for our nighttime feathered friends. Meet at the park office to talk about the species of owls found at Hayfields and the characteristics that make them so suited for their nocturnal lifestyle. Then, we'll hike through the woods and play owl calls to encourage some feathered friends to give us a callback or even a fly-over. There is no guarantee that we'll hear or see owls, but the hike is guaranteed to be a hoot! Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
