Overlooking the New River, the Shot Tower was built in the 1800s to make ammunition for the firearms of the early settlers. Interpretive signs provide details on the tower, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Grounds are open from dawn until dusk, and the parking lot is open year-round. During the scheduled tour times, guests may ascend the tower and get an up-close look at the structure. Admission to the tower is free; however, the daily parking fee applies.
