Sweater weather is better together. Bring your family and friends to our joyous festival of games, hay rides, face painting, pumpkin carving, crafts, cider, and more. There is no better way to foster community than with a hot drink under the autumn leaves. 1-5 p.m. - Harvest Activities and Games While out and about enjoying the fall leaf color, stop by and join the rangers in fun fall activities. Learn why leaves are colorful in the fall, carve a pumpkin, play some games and just enjoy the day in the park during one of the best times of year in the mountains of southwest Virginia. 1-5 p.m. - Harvest Hay Rides Enjoy the cool autumn air and view the beauty of the park with a short hayride around the park and up to our very own “pumpkin patch.” Choose a pumpkin of your choice and then take it back to carve with a ranger. Donations for pumpkins would be appreciated for the Friends of Hungry Mother. 6 p.m. - Wild Wonders in Your Backyard Many people love animals, but some animals found in Virginia can be scary.
