Meet children's author Christy Gove, who will read to us from her book, Dr. Karra to the Rescue ! Based on the true stories of patients at the Wildlife Center of Virginia , Dr. Karra to the Rescue follows the Center’s Veterinary Director, Dr. Karra Pierce, through a busy day caring for injured and orphaned wildlife. Young readers will meet a variety of patients, learn about wildlife medicine, and discover what it takes to help wild animals return to their natural habitats. This program is part of a three-day book tour as Christy Gove, Dr. Karra, and the Center’s animal ambassadors travel to several locations throughout the Shenandoah Valley and Charlottesville.
