Wild about Bats!

As the sun dips low and the night draws near, we humans usually turn in for the night...but this is show-time for bats! Join us to celebrate these amazing animals. You'll get a rare chance to come face-to-face with these mysterious creatures, learn about local bat rehabilitation efforts, and identify bats in flight using specialized sound-detecting equipment. This program will be conducted under a covered shelter with seating and includes optional slow-paced walking. The evening will begin with an informational talk about these unique animals and conclude with a walk to detect bats as they come out for early-evening hunting. Please meet at Green Hill Pond. Suitable for all ages. Bring binoculars if you have them, and if you decide to bring a light please use it on a red light setting to avoid disturbing nocturnal wildlife. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather and bring a water bottle with you. Parks are for everyone, please let us know if you need special accommodation.
