Occoneechee State Park — 1192 Occoneechee Park Rd., Clarksville, VA

Come find us in the museum at the Visitor Center as we get hands on with skulls and furs from Virginia’s native animals. Find out what it’s like to pet a coyote, 'boop' the snoot of a beaver, and pose for pictures with a fox without worrying about teeth, claws, or laws getting in your way. This is an excellent tactile experience for young children, adults, and folks with learning disabilities. We’ll learn a bit about each of the animals as we go, about how state parks source their skulls and furs, and their place in the ecosystem.
