Homeschool in Nature: Owls

Friday, January 8, 2027 · 10:00 AM

Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center and Wildlife Sanctuary — 414 Massasoit Rd., Worcester, MA

Broad Meadow Brook's homeschool programs bring learning to life in a cooperative, curiosity-driven setting for school-aged children. In January, we'll focus on owls, exploring how they hunt in the dark, what makes them so well suited to night, and why the woods around us matter to them. Your child will build observation skills through outdoor exploration, games, and activities designed to make big scientific ideas stick. Our instructors use the sanctuary itself as the classroom, helping young learners develop real knowledge and a sense of belonging in nature. Come prepared to be both indoors and outdoors during the session. Health forms are required for drop-off students, and families are always welcome to remain on the sanctuary. More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
