PYTHON: Level 1 (Grades 5-8) Learn the basics of real-world computer programming in Python, an easy-to-learn language used by many companies. Students will learn variables, loops, if/then statements, functions, and how to create programs through fun projects like math problems, quizzes, secret messages, drawings, and Minecraft. No programming experience is required, but typing experience is helpful. This challenging, hands-on class is ideal for students who enjoy computers and problem-solving. It is the first of four Python programming levels. Required Supplies: Students must purchase a Raspberry Pi educational computer for an additional one-time fee and bring it to class each week. Existing Raspberry Pi 3 owners should confirm compatibility before purchasing a new one.
