What about when a couple of Gen X friends dig into that legacy, only to form an unlikely friendship with one of the brand’s key architects? In this conversation, co-authors Randy Cogill and Tripp Underwood share the story behind Have a Cheap Day , their coffee-table book chronicling the best Building 19 ads from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. Through personal stories and insight gleaned from the colorful characters who shaped this beloved local institution, they’ll explore why this junky store continues to live on in so many New England hearts.
