Step back into the 1960s—the decade of protest, hope, and change—through the power of music. Join us for The Folk Revolution of the 1960s, a live program blending performance and conversation. Hear iconic songs by Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Joni Mitchell, John Prine, Pete Seeger and others, and discover how folk music became the voice of civil rights, anti-war movements, and personal reflection. Come for the music, stay for the stories—and explore why these songs still matter today. Art Grossman has been playing guitar and singing since about 1960, and in the late 60s, started performing at the Sword in the Stone Coffeehouse on Charles Street in Boston’s Back Bay.
