Learn about the SCIENCE in the movie Interstellar (Rated PG-13) starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway. Bring a blanket, bring a pillow, and snuggle in for a deep dive into black holes, worm holes, time dilation, and all the strange but true science that happens in Interstellar, a 2hr-45min sci-fi masterpiece. We will stop the movie at 5 key transitions for quick discussions of the movie and for snack breaks, and for participants to experiment with "gravity wells" and hold meteorites from the asteroid belt. At the beginning and end of the program we will simulate the "ice planet" by freezing liquid Nitrogen solid at a temperature of –346 degrees Fahrenheit (–210 degrees C).
