Join us in celebration of Lunar New Year, while we create faux stained glass candle jars! Lunar New Year a major celebration in many East Asian cultures that symbolizes family reunions, fresh starts, and good fortune. Festivities include decorating with red and gold, having family dinners, setting off fireworks, and giving red envelopes of money, or hongbao, for good luck! Light is important during the Lunar New Year because it symbolizes hope, the triumph of good over darkness, and a fresh start for the coming year. This craft is best for ages 14+. Registration is required as space is limited. Questions about this program? Email Shay at smcgroarty@wellesleyma.gov Sponsored by the Friends of the Wellesley Free Libraries.
