Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary — 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield, MA
Mammals move through Ipswich River every day, usually without being seen. This morning, you and your toddler will learn how to find them anyway. Start by handling real mammal artifacts, including antlers and fur, to see up close how a these animals are built for cold weather and quick escapes. Then head out on the trails to search for the clues they leave behind: tracks, well-worn paths through the brush, and twigs nibbled off at toddler height. Plan on a short walk at toddler pace on uneven, possibly snowy trails, with time indoors at the start and finish. More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
