Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary — 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield, MA
Start the new year outdoors, looking for winter birds on a guided morning walk. Explore Ipswich River's woodlands, fields, and wetland edges with experienced guides, searching for chickadees, woodpeckers, and waterfowl and picking up the basics of winter bird identification. We will find a nice variety of resident and migratory songbirds. All skill levels are welcome, so bring your curiosity and a warm hat. Plan on walking a mile or more at an easy pace over uneven trails that may be icy or snowy in January. Dress warmly and wear footwear with good traction. The program takes place entirely outdoors.
