Join us for another presentation by Emily Makrez! You will learn the principles of lacto-fermentation via a demonstration of how to make a lactofermented hot sauce and hot pepper mash. You will learn how to turn your hot peppers into a fiery and delicious condiment that will last. The demonstration will include the basic principles of lacto-fermentation so you will leave with the knowledge and confidence to be able to safely ferment practically anything! We will also touch on the benefits of lacto-fermented food and how adding these foods to our diets are a benefit to our overall health. About the presenter: Sharing my excitement for fermentation and my quest for people to eat local/reduce food waste is the passion of my life. I worked in the corporate world for a time, but knew there was always something else calling me. I went back to school to study nutrition and start my own farm. Learning how to preserve food in a way that’s not only easy, but also so important for our health, gave me the faith to make the leap.
