Though live productions of their work still take place all over the world, it’s the film versions of musicals like OKLAHOMA, THE KING AND I, SOUTH PACIFIC, and THE SOUND OF MUSIC that have truly kept their legacy alive. Explore how the classic works of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein were transferred to the big screen and the varying approaches used in casting, staging, and producing some of the most popular and influential movie musicals ever made. Led by Brian Rose , a professor emeritus at Fordham University, where he taught for 38 years in the Department of Communication and Media Studies.
