Become a game composer and discover how music brings every great game to life in this 8-week program! Inspired by soundtracks children love from Mario, Zelda, and Minecraft, students explore rhythm, melody, and beat-making through musical games and paper-and-pencil composing. They invent a game character and the world it lives in, write a theme song for it, and work with instructors to turn their music into sound effects and a soundtrack for a playable video game! Playing, listening, and sharing feedback with classmates builds musicianship, creativity, and teamwork. Families get to hear a soundtrack their child composed! This program was founded by Northwestern University alumni Aspen Buckingham and Steven Jiang, featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 and Entrepreneur Magazine, and led by certified music instructors. By the end, students will have built a portfolio of beats, songs, and music they are proud to share.
