The Resident Fixer Program at Goodnow Library, held every Thursday from 6:30–8:00 p.m., is an extension of the quarterly Fixit Clinics. Sudbury residents are welcome to bring household items in need of repair and consult with a resident fixer about how to get them working again. Items suitable for the program include small household appliances such as blenders, CD players, lamps, and fans, as well as clothing, jewelry, bicycles, and wiggly wooden chairs. Items that can be repaired quickly will generally be fixed while the owner waits. Repairs that require more substantial time or replacement parts may require the owner to leave the item with the fixer. The repaired item can then be picked up during a future Resident Fixer session once the repair is complete.
