Join us for an amazing workshop with the talented Jessamy Shay! Hand Sewing For Mending will focus on hand sewing techniques that can be used to repair seams, hems, tears, and more. Participants will learn about tools and materials for hand sewing, a variety of stitches, and when to apply them to restore garments back to wearability. Suitable for beginners with little or no sewing experience, or those who want a refresher on the basics. About Jessamy: Jessamy Shay Kilcollins is a textile artist, educator, and sustainable fashion designer who uses secondhand materials and handcraft processes to interrogate the roles of consumption and consumerism in modern society. She earned a BFA in Fibers and Certificate in Fashion Design from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design, and has taught mending at Harvard Art Museums, the Farnsworth Museum, and Patagonia, among others.
