Join the Sharon Cultural Council and Sharon Public Library for a community Poetry Open Mic on Saturday, September 26, from 2:00–4:00 PM at the Sharon Public Library. Poets and spoken-word performers of all ages and experience levels are invited to share an original piece in a welcoming, supportive setting. Performances should be approximately 3–5 minutes, with prizes of $75, $50, and $25 awarded to the top three performers. Community members are equally encouraged to attend simply to listen, celebrate local creativity, and support our performers. More than a competition, this event is an opportunity to bring Sharon together through poetry, storytelling, language, and the arts. We hope to create a space where students, adults, emerging writers, and longtime residents can share their voices and connect with one another through creative expression. Our goal is for the Poetry Open Mic to become a staple of Sharon’s cultural calendar and a yearly community tradition. Your voice. Your stage.
