Open Space Community Hike

Darby Pond Conservation Area The open space committee will lead a public hike to this newer addition to the Town's trail system. This route will traverse varied terrain of flat grasslands, mature white pine forests and sand dunes. It offer views of reclaimed cranberry bogs and ponds. We will point out to the remains of the 19th century railroad track to Middleborough. As always, dress appropriately and bring water and insect repellent as needed. This guided hike is free of charge but requires registration. Meeting Location: Darby Pond Conservation Area Date: Saturday October 24th Distance: About 3 miles Time: 1:00pm - Hike will take about two hours. NEW TIME There is no rain date, please call 774-454-1980 if the weather is questionable. If there is ice and snow on the trail, the hike will not take place. PRE-REGISTRATION IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED
