"Lincoln in the Bardo" with Professor Theo Theoharis Lincoln in the Bardo, by George Saunders, written in 2017, combines fantasy, Civil War History, and Tibetan Buddhism. The novel tells the story of Abraham Lincoln’s graveyard grief for his dead son Willie and the attempts by many other children in the afterlife to comfort the grieving Lincoln, to help him and themselves recover when death has come too soon. The novel won The Booker Prize in 2017. Copies of the book will be available at the Main Library Public Services Desk starting the week of September 8. Please register as space is limited.
