The Spectacle Collective ensemble will perform the world premieres of works written for Spectacle Collective by a group of up and coming Chilean composers mentored by award winning composer and guitarist, Javier Farías. These new works present explorations of both South American folk and Western Classical music styles. After the concert, the performers and one of the composers will host a Q&A with the audience. Spectacle Collective, a Boston-based performance arts nonprofit founded in 2019, brings classical music and other art forms into conversation with each other to create multidisciplinary performances, engage wider audiences, and help artists thrive. Beginning with classical music, we find new ways for art forms to interact and foster a shared experience between performers and audience members. Our most recent mainstage project received rave reviews, The Boston Musical Intelligencer calling it “enchanting… a delectable feast.” This program is supported in part by a grant from the Newton Cultural Council, a local council that is supported by the Mass Cultural Council and the City of Newton.
