The Witch's Garden: An Exploration of Mayhem, Medicine and Magic Sneak through the iron gates of the poison garden under the cloak of darkness and explore the myth, magic, medicine, and poison behind some of the world's most powerful and dangerous plants. We are excited to welcome back Varla Ventura for a journey through the sinister delights of the witch’s garden. Varla is a writer, traveler, rotten botanist, and lover of the strange. She has authored eight books on bizarre and freaky things, from the history of paranormal parlor games to plants that smell like corpses, to mermaids, vampire, banshees, and other creepy creatures of the fairy realm. She is a committed supernaturalist, folklorist, and seeker of those shadowy things that scrape at your window in the dead of the night. Registration for this event is suggested, but not required. Patrons who register will receive an event reminder and any updates about the event. Registration also helps us know how many chairs we need.
