Known for five books of poetry, she has been published in various magazines, including Poetry and Ploughshares. She is co-author, with Judith Steinberg of Beyond Words: Writing Poems with Children. She has taught at Lesley College (now University), and at several schools, weaving interdisciplinary arts into school curricula. She is known as The Jazz Poet of Lynn, where she resides. Her latest book is Freedom and Confinement: An Interview with Etheridge Knight Mckendy Fils-Aimé is a New England-based Haitian American poet, organizer, and teaching artist.
