The Medford Police and Recreation Department is partnering to bring back the Wright's Pond Fishing Derby! Families can fish at the pond for a few hours and gather at the bathhouse for Lunch to be served (hot dogs, grilled cheese, snacks & water). Fishing Date: Saturday, September 12th, 2026 Check In: 8:30am-9:00am Fishing: 9:00am-11:00am Food: 11:00am-12:00pm This is a free event! We will provide the tackle and food. Please bring your own fishing rod if you have one. A limited number of fishing rods will be available. If you need a fishing rod, in addition to the age registration, please sign up for a fishing rod. We will have a wait list and will work with local vendors to hopefully provide additional rods if needed. This is a family friendly event. All children 16 and under must have adult supervision. Parents, guardians and juniors 15 years of age or older will require a MA freshwater fishing license. If a junior is age 15-17, the fishing license is free.
