North River Wildlife Sanctuary — 2000 Main St., Marshfield, MA
Spend an hour outside at North River with your family, exploring the sanctuary on a guided walk. Winter strips the landscape down and makes it easy to spot things that are hidden the rest of the year: tracks pressed into snow and mud, bare branches showing their shape, and the birds and animals that stay active through the cold. A naturalist leads the way and helps young explorers make sense of what they are finding along the trails. Come away knowing a little more about the world around you. This program takes place outdoors except in extreme weather, with up to 1.5 miles of walking on uneven terrain. Registration is required, though walk-ins are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the entire program; this is not a drop-off program.
