North River Wildlife Sanctuary — 2000 Main St., Marshfield, MA

Have you noticed the days getting shorter? There's real science behind that shift, and the natural world is responding in real time. At this small-group homeschool program, young naturalists and their caregivers explore how changing light drives seasonal change in autumn: from animals sensing the cue to migrate or hibernate, to the way plants prepare for dormancy. Through outdoor investigation and a trail walk, discover how a few minutes less of daylight can set off a cascade of change across the entire landscape. Small group sizes keep things curious, collaborative, and full of discovery. Meet in the Nature Center. Bring sturdy footwear for up to 1.5 miles of uneven terrain.
