Join Sustainable Marblehead and Abbot Public Library for a discussion of Bill McKibben’s “Here Comes the Sun,” led by Kimberly Grad, Director of Abbot Public Library. In his latest book, climate activist and author Bill McKibben explores the rapid growth of solar energy and the possibility of a world beyond fossil fuels. The book has been described as an optimistic, upbeat and empowering read. McKibben looks at how abundant, inexpensive solar power could help address the climate crisis while also creating a more equitable, resilient, and humane energy system. Along the way, he considers the science, politics, history and challenges behind the energy transition, as well as the choices that will determine where we go from here. As author Rebecca Solnit writes, “Here Comes the Sun” is “a history, a handbook, a hopeful look at the energy revolution that’s already well underway.” Space is limited, and registration is required.
