How does a place experienced through travel become the setting for a novel? Join Mansfield author Kunal Joarder for a photographic journey through Morocco and a conversation about how travel, observation, and imagination came together in his debut novel, Marrakech at Dusk. Through photographs from his travels in Morocco, Kunal will explore the streets, riads, architecture, artisans, colors, and everyday moments that helped shape the fictional world of the novel and its characters. The presentation will include photographs, reflections on the journey from travel to fiction, a brief reading from the novel, and time for questions. Signed copies of Marrakech at Dusk will be available for purchase following the program. Kunal Joarder is a Mansfield author, photographer, and lifelong traveler. After a long career in technology and business, he turned his attention more fully to writing, photography, and painting. Kunal and his wife, Rachelle, have traveled extensively together, drawn to the history, architecture, art, and everyday life of the places they visit.
