Rhode Island Duck Bonanza

Saturday, February 13, 2027 · 7:00 AM

Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary — 208 S Great Rd., Lincoln, MA

Duck numbers in Rhode Island can reach their peak in winter as migrating and resident birds move in together. Explore ponds, coves, the Barrington River, and Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge to search for waterfowl settling in for the cold season. On this day-long field trip, we could spot more than 20 species, including breathtaking flocks of Harlequin Ducks. Admire their colorful plumage, sharpen your ID skills, and gain a better understanding of their behavior as well as the habitats they rely on. While this program is geared toward adults, teens ages 16-17 can attend if accompanied by an adult. This trip departs from Drumlin Farm and travels together in Mass Audubon vans. We will stop for lunch, though the cost of the meal is not included in the program fee. More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
