Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary — 208 S Great Rd., Lincoln, MA

Take a flavorful journey through the storied and sugary history of maple syrup. Follow the age-old tradition of turning sap into syrup from tree tap to table. Watch how it's made with traditional methods, getting a hands-on look (and taste) at each step of the process. Learn about the short window of freezing nights and thawing days that makes it all happen, and how a warming climate is reshaping the New England sugaring season. Immerse yourself in the sights, scents, and tastes of late winter in the woods and leave with a newfound appreciation for this sweet New England staple. Be prepared for short walks over uneven terrain that may be icy or slushy. You will warm up briefly indoors throughout the afternoon. More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
