The Youth STEAM Initiative (YSI), in collaboration with the Cary Library and with generous support from the Dana Home Foundation, invites older adults to a practical, hands-on workshop on how to take, edit, organize, and manage photos using a smartphone. Led by accomplished photographer Xiongwei Li (李雄伟), the workshop will introduce simple and useful techniques for improving everyday smartphone photography. Participants will learn how to use lighting, composition, angles, focus, and other camera features to better capture family moments, travel experiences, nature, community events, and daily life. The workshop will also introduce practical ways to use AI-powered tools to enhance and manage photos. Participants will explore how AI can help with tasks such as improving image quality, adjusting lighting, removing unwanted elements, and creating polished images for sharing with family and friends. This workshop is specially designed for older adults and will emphasize learning by doing. Participants are encouraged to bring their own smartphones and practice during the session.
