A book club for 4th and 5th graders who love to read and talk about books with their peers. Participants read an assigned novel prior to each meeting and talk about it with other children in the group. Each month a different participant hosts the meeting, providing a snack and reading aloud the questions prepared by the group leader. This is an opportunity to read and think about books that participants may not have been exposed to, with a particular emphasis on trying to understand the author's intent in writing the book and why characters make the specific choices they do.
