A first book club for first graders guided by the Junior Great Books curriculum, a series of picture books specifically geared toward 6- to 7-year-olds. Children read (or have read to them) the assigned story each month a day or two before the group. During the group, we read the story aloud and children are invited to share their questions about the story and to discuss the leader's questions. We then read a different picture book, and end by doing a short craft or activity. A snack is provided by the library.
