Walk the trails of World’s End, especially “Bird Alley” and “The Valley” listening for seasonal bird songs and searching for bird activity. Positioned in Hingham Bay, World’s End offers an attractive green oasis for birds flying along the coast. Poor weather conditions and unfavorable fronts often force birds to make landfall which, while not so ideal for the birds, can result in spectacular birding for humans. Spend two hours looking and listening for resident and migrant birds. Please bring binoculars, dress in layers for the weather, including appropriate footwear for potentially muddy conditions, and provide your water, snack and insect repellent if needed. You’ll join Sally Avery, who has been actively birding the many Trustees, Audubon, beaches, and town conservation lands in eastern Massachusetts for over 25 years. She has led countless bird walks for groups and specializes in introducing people to the satisfying hobby of birding by demonstrating proper use of equipment, field guides, and apps as an aid to identifying birds.
