Join us on the 4th Tuesday every OTHER month for our Writing Workshop Series! Each session will be led by Kristen Hewitt, M.A English and Creative Writing. October Topic: Create Your Own Horror Story : A Spooky Writing Intensive Workshop It’s spooky season! If you love horror stories and you want to write your own, come join Kristen for this hands-on writing workshop where we take your idea and actually do something with it. We’ll start by talking a little bit about what makes a horror story work: setting, atmosphere, characters, suspense, conflict, and all those creepy little details that make you think about a story long after you’ve finished reading it. Then comes the fun. You’ll choose from different prompts based on the elements we talked about at the beginning and use them to start building your own original horror story. This is much more of an intensive, hands-on writing night than a lecture, so come prepared to actually create, experiment, play with your ideas, and see where your story takes you.
