Explore the rich history, artistic heritage, and visual storytelling traditions of tarot in this educational, hands-on workshop. Presenter Sally Cragin will guide participants through the cultural origins of tarot, the symbolic structure of the four suits, and the classic imagery of the Major Arcana cards. Focusing on Pamela Colman Smith’s iconic 1909 illustrations for the traditional Rider-Waite deck, attendees will examine how card symbolism has been interpreted over generations as a narrative tool and creative prompt. Participants will have the opportunity to analyze card structures and practice basic interpretive layouts. This program is designed for beginners and curious adults of all backgrounds interested in art history, symbolism, and narrative traditions.
