A 250th Groton Lecture with Josh Vollmar, Historian, on " Shays’ Rebellion: Groton’s Revolutionary Epilogue and the U.S. Constitution’s Prologue" Join acclaimed local historian Josh Vollmar for an engaging look at Groton’s pivotal role in shaping the nation after the American Revolution. Although often overlooked today, Shays' Rebellion (1786–1787) was one of the most influential events in the young republic, helping pave the way for the drafting of the U.S. Constitution. As part of the nation’s 250th anniversary commemoration, discover how Groton stood at the center of this remarkable chapter in American history. Registration opens Tuesday, September 1, at 10 am.
