Sashiko Visible Mending Workshop

Tuesday, November 17, 2026 · 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM

Greenfield Public Library — 412 Main St., Greenfield, MA

Join us in the Makerspace on Tuesday, November 17th, 1:30-3:00 p.m. at for a Sashiko Visible Mending Workshop with Jessica Plaut. Jessica will lead us in learning to make a visible mending patch that’s inspired by traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching. We'll learn beginner Sashiko patterns and stitches to get you started on your Sashiko patch. Patterns, needles and sashiko thread will be provided, along with denim fabric for you to create your own patch. Each workshop participant will leave with a small kit to continue their Sashiko mending journey on their own. Workshop participants are expected to have basic hand-sewing skills. Space is limited, and registration is required: For more information, contact Nancy Little at nancy.little @greenfield-ma.gov or call (413) 772-1544. This program, generously sponsored by the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library, is free and intended for ages 16 and up.
