About the Book

Just one year after her conviction, Mary comes back from the dead. Saved from having to serve a life sentence for murder, she returns to the dark and unpredictable streets of Salem. But these streets have changed, and so has she. Burdened by sorrow, guilt, and a broken spirit, Mary must confront her own demons once and for all. Salem is no longer filled with rioters and loud, savage souls, but something else has risen up within the melancholy, ghostliness of the town. He towers over everyone, he walks through fire, and he seeks to extinguish what little light that remains in the people of Salem and in its once beautiful and untouchable places of holy worship. Will Mary finally break the chains of her witchy past and discover she is more powerful than she ever imagined, or will she burn herself, and all of Salem, right down to the ground?
