Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary — Felix Neck Dr., Edgartown, MA
As the full moon rises over Felix Neck, the sanctuary's trails come alive with sounds and movement. Your evening begins inside the Nature Center, where a Mass Audubon naturalist will introduce you to the Island's resident owl species and the conservation work protecting their habitats. Then, it's out to the trails to scan the tree line and discover how these nocturnal birds navigate the darkness. Tune your ears to the sounds of the night as a full moon lights your way. Listen for the calls of resident owls and other nocturnal wildlife, and experience a side of the sanctuary that few visitors ever see. This is an evening program. Trails will be dark and unlit, so bring a small flashlight or headlamp. Wear warm, weather-appropriate layers and sturdy footwear for walking on unpaved trails. We will begin our evening adventure in our Nature Center.
